KD frontman Robert Halef denies strong connections.
Four parliamentary politicians have been singled out for having close ties to criminal clans.
It is clear from the classified report that it was the basis for the statement of Police Chief Mats Löfving.
One of the appointed politicians is still sitting in the Riksdag: Christian Democrat Robert Halef.
The police proposal that there are at least 40 criminal clans in Sweden struck like a bomb.
The statement is based on a classified report that was completed as early as January. The criminal clans are alleged to have managed to gain branches in both municipal politics and national politics. And that most have been active for a long time, often between 30 and 35 years.
The emphasis is on four clans, or family networks, as the police also call them. One of them is the Södertälje network. It is made up of about 130 people. Some are related, others have grown up together.
The Södertälje network stands out among the families that the police have examined because it has an incomparably great influence on political life at the municipal and national level.
Four people with connections to the network are, or have been, Riksdag politicians. Two sat in the Riksdag for the moderates and one for the Social Democrats but they no longer have their assignments.
One of them is currently sitting in the Riksdag: Christian Democrat Robert Halef.
Halef has been a member of the Riksdag since 2010. He is a deputy on several of the Riksdag’s committees, including the Justice Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee. He was previously a local Christian Democrat politician in Södertälje.

The report, which Aftonbladet has read, describes how the Södertälje network has extensive criminal activity including threats, violence, extortion, arms and drug trafficking, and financial crime.
According to the police report, the branches of the network range from running the boys in the city to association activities, municipal politics and even the Riksdag. At the municipal level, politicians who are part of or have close ties to the network make decisions that benefit the network, according to the police.
“Through its presence at all levels, the Södertälje network has been able to consolidate its position and influence”says in the material.

Halef accuses the police of discriminating against him and his family.
Is unpunished
Robert Halef is mentioned as a person with a close connection to the network. More detailed information about him or his network connections is not mentioned. The authors of the report also describe that there is good knowledge about the impact of family members in the local community, but that the impact on political life is less.
Halef, who is unpunished, vigorously denies all connections to the Södertälje network.
– I am offended and my family is offended. These accusations are baseless, he tells Aftonbladet. They have been hearing gossip and filth.
