The start of the trading week is in a positive tone and the main Asian stock exchanges are rising.

Just before the Japanese stock market opened, news came that future optimism among Japanese companies is increasing for the second consecutive quarter, according to the so-called Tankan report, which is compiled once a quarter by the Bank of Japan. .

The news sent the Nikkei 225 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange up 0.7 percent during morning trading, while the broader Topix index rose 1.2 percent.

Among the companies that are doing well are games company Nintendo, which was up 1.3 percent at the open, and automaker Toyota, which was up 0.6 percent.

In Hong Kong, Hang Seng initially moved sideways, but was up just over 0.1 percent after an hour of trading.

Composite indices in both Shanghai and Shenzhen are up about 0.3 percent.
