Richard, 70, left Skogsbygden on the outskirts of Vårgårda on Monday morning and, according to police, was later visible on county road 1768 in the direction of Bredared in the afternoon. It is the last known sighting of him.
He was wearing a blue half-length jacket, cap, and blue jeans. He leans forward and probably has a backpack, when Richard disappeared he also had a small dog with him.
On Tuesday, a large search operation for Richard was carried out along county roads in Vårgårda.
– We are searching with drones, dog patrols and police patrols, said Thomas Fuxborg, press spokesman for the police in the West region on Tuesday.
“We keep working”
Since mid-week, Missing People has conducted several Skogsbygden-based search operations. On Saturday, the search continues, but then the volunteer organization starts from Bredared.
– We continue to work extensively and broadly with the sectors to which we will apply. We cooperate with the police and they receive advice from the public, says Elin Grönlund, administrative manager of Missing People Sjuhärad, to Alingsås Tidning.
The Missing People used foot patrols and five horse-drawn carriages during Saturday’s search operation.
The number of tips decreases
– We don’t have an end time. We drive as long as we have foot patrols, but it gets harder when it gets dark. We finished at nine o’clock the other nights, says Elin Grönlund to Alingsås Tidning.
The number of leads to Richard’s disappearance is getting smaller and smaller as time goes on, police say.
– The tipping influx is decreasing, but we are grateful that people are involved and are vigilant when moving in the area, Gunilla Odnäs, the police investigator, has previously told Alingsås Tidning.
