Odd Steinar Sörengen’s house collapsed on him.
He was rescued by a helicopter, but his partner and their 13-year-old daughter remain under the rubble.
– If they have left, I hope it went quickly, he tells VG.
At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Odd Steinar Sörengen woke up with his daughter and her partner running into his bedroom and yelling that they had to get out. Then the house collapsed on them, VG reports.
Odd Steinar was rescued by a helicopter and is now being treated at the hospital. For VG, they tell him that his daughter and her partner remain under the racial masses.
– I would have liked to change places with my daughter, so that she was safe. I’m very worried. He is 13 years old and has his whole life ahead of him. If they are gone, I hope it was quick, he tells VG.
When Odd Steinar woke up to the screams of his daughter and her partner, he thought the house was on fire.
– When I am on one of the last steps, I hear a very noisy light. Then the house collapses, he says.

“The worst day of my life”
Then he gets trapped under the racial masses and another race occurs. This brought Odd Steinar closer to an opening. Then he could call the neighbors who found him and raised the alarm.
A helicopter was called to the scene and Odd Steinar was hoisted up and taken to hospital. Then he had a body temperature of 30 degrees. He has survived without serious injuries.
Now she waits for signs of life from her daughter and partner.
– I do not give up, I understand that the forecasts look bad. The worst is waiting. That have not yet been reached, gnaws a lot, he says.
At the same time that Odd, his daughter and her partner were missing, his mother-in-law Britt and sister-in-law Åse-Lill were desperately searching for answers as to whether their loved ones had survived.
– It’s the worst day of my life, Britt told VG when she was looking for Odd, her daughter and her granddaughter outside the evacuation hotel.
He then received a call that Odd had been found and taken to the hospital.
Pregnant woman and 2-year-old child are missing
More than a day has passed since the landslide occurred in Gjerdrum, Norway. More than 1,000 people have been evacuated, nine houses collapsed and more are expected to collapse. According to the police, ten people are still missing. According to TV2, there is no family with a man, a pregnant woman and a 2-year-old girl.
A great effort is being made with helicopters, thermal imaging cameras and drones.
“We are focused on finding and saving lives and we still have hope of doing so,” says Police Task Leader Roger Pettersen during a news conference.
