Racist posts were posted on several of the Swedish radio Twitter accounts after they were hijacked by an unauthorized person. Stock Photography.
Several of Sveriges Radio’s Twitter accounts were hijacked on Saturday afternoon. Messages in English, some with racist messages, were posted on SR Ekot, SR Politik and SR Ekonomi accounts for just over half an hour.
Posts were continuously deleted, but posts did not cease until Swedish Radio staff deleted all accounts.
– An unauthorized person managed to send tweets from our accounts. They certainly didn’t come from us. Of course, we are serious about what could happen and will investigate it carefully, says Swedish Radio press manager Claes Bertilsson.
Swedish radio still does not know how the kidnapping occurred or who was behind it.
– We work internally and try to find out what happened, but I can’t say at the moment but now it has tried to deal with the emergency situation, says Claes Bertilsson.
Even on Saturday night, Swedish radio knew nothing more about how the data breach occurred.
