The 28-year-old Ajax player Quincy Promes has been arrested by the police.

He is suspected of stabbing a relative and now risks up to four years in prison.

So says De Telegraaf.

The crime is said to have taken place in connection with a family party at Promes’ home this summer. According to De Telegraaf, the Dutch national team player had a heated dispute with a family agent and stabbed the person with a knife.

The victim was seriously injured but did not report the incident to the police until recently.

– An investigation was launched and now one person has been arrested, says police spokesman Jelmer Geerd.

You are under arrest

Quincy Promes was arrested at her home early Sunday morning and is currently under arrest. You will be detained for at least three days and risk, if convicted of the crime, up to four years in prison.

Played yesterday

Promes has belonged to the big club Ajax since the summer of 2019. He played a match as late as yesterday (Saturday) when he became the top scorer in the 4-0 win against Zwolle.
