It has been more than three months since the high-profile death in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Currently, three out of four police officers are charged with complicity and complicity in the murder. The fourth, Derek Chauvin, is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter (murder in the second degree and murder in the second degree).

It was Chauvin who put his knee on Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes.

The prosecution claims that the police deserve a more severe punishment than usual. According to court documents received on Friday, it is argued that there are a number of aggravating circumstances that justify it.

That Derek Chauvin showed “special cruelty” during the arrest is one thing. That the suspects “actively participated” in the death is another.

“George Floyd, the victim, was particularly vulnerable because officers already handcuffed him and then placed him chest-down on the sidewalk, and Floyd clearly told them repeatedly that he could not breathe,” the documents state.

All four police officers who were present at Floyd’s arrest have been fired.

On Monday May 25, George Floyd, 46, was killed during a police intervention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Floyd was unarmed when he was arrested, suspected of attempting to use counterfeit bills in a restaurant.
