It was during a summer celebration in the summer of 2019 that several of the party members were in attendance when then-group leader and city board member Mattias Krantz is said to have exposed two women to sexual harassment.

One woman was a party companion, the other a teenager who attended the same celebration.

Mattias Krantz has always denied any wrongdoing and stated that it is a way of removing him from the top positions of the party, in an internal political battle.

Four cases of sexual harassment

But both the district court and the appellate court found that he had committed a crime. In the Court of Appeal, Krantz was sentenced for four cases of sexual harassment to a suspended sentence and a 60-day fine.

In an email to Mark Township Sunday afternoon, Matias Krantz writes that:

“As I no longer represent the Swedish Democrats, I want to be removed from all functions.”

– This was something that I agreed with the president of my district that if they condemned me I would go, says Mattias Krantz and maintains that he is innocent.

– Yes, Absolut.

Group leader: “Hard year”

Last week, the Swedish Democrats from Mark Township appointed a new group leader to lead the party’s municipal work, Glenn Glansén.

Borås newspaper was the first to tell about it. In an interview in the same newspaper, Glenn Glansén stated that he does not recognize the image of a divided party:

– It has been a difficult year and I think everyone has thought about it. Above all, the uncertainty, which took so long.
