A man from Östergötland has been sentenced to eight months in prison for incitement against an ethnic group, writes Corren.se.
The man, who is in his 50s, wrote a long series of posts on a Russian site in 2018, 60 of which, according to the Linköping District Court, should be considered incitement against ethnic groups.
According to the court, the posts must have been made to surprise and be appreciated by like-minded people. “Some of the posts constitute a strong call for violence against certain vulnerable groups. Such calls can have devastating consequences and can pose a threat to a democratic society,” the district court wrote in the ruling.
The condemned man denies any wrongdoing. He considers that the messages were part of “an extremely black humor” and believes that the accusation is contrary to freedom of expression.
