Prince’s sister jumped racist – lottery sitting next to student

Prince Yao Dzogbefia says his 14-year-old sister is overwhelmed by all the support she and her family have received on social media since Prince’s posts have been shared thousands of times.

– Now she’s starting to feel angry and not just desperately desperate. But we are very disappointed with how flat the school has been, says Prince Yao Dzogbefia.

She works as an additional resource at a school next to Gröndalsskolan in Värnamo and saw for the first time through the dining room window how happy the little sister was when her class started school activity on Wednesday last week playing hide-and-seek under the supervision of a teacher. But 20 minutes later the sister called and cried.

A teacher had scolded a student who was heading for a roof and then the student shouted: “Damn, I hate them, they should be exterminated, shot!”.
The teacher asked the student what the student’s reasoning had to do with the roof incident and pointed out that they are all different. Then the student must have yelled: “Yes, but they don’t all look like X (Prince’s little sister’s name, red note). I hate her”.

Prince’s sister, who was standing next to him, rushed to leave and contacted Prince to ask him to report her illness. She was there only a few minutes later.

Prince: “The school is handcuffed”

Prince tried to find out what had happened and demanded a meeting with the school’s management, but did not feel that he had received any response.

– I feel like it’s been up to me to deal with this and that school has fallen into place. My sister couldn’t go to school the day after this happened, but she tried to go last Friday and then the teacher decided that they would draw new places in the classroom. My sister would end up on the bench with the student who said it. However, the teacher realized that my sister did not like him.

When the little sister made another attempt to return to school this week, she did not feel safe when she was expected to be in the same classroom as four students in the same circle as the person who spoke out racist and threatening. She would have preferred to sit in another room and work, but she dared not ask.

– Instead of arranging a meeting with us and these students and their tutors, the student health staff tried to pressure my sister to be in the classroom. Student health personnel claimed that he had anxiety and needed to address it by returning to the classroom, says Prince Yao Dzogbefia.

Prince and his 22-year-old little brother have their own experiences of being exposed to racism at Gröndalsskolan when they were students there, and this was the third time the sister was affected.

– When I was eight years old, for example, there was someone in the classroom who was having fun. Then one of the gang said “oh, it smells n *”. Then the gang turned to my sister, who is the only dark-skinned person in the class, and laughed.

Gröndalsskolan director Dan-Ola Einarsson is referring to Helene Kristins, who is an operations manager in the municipality of Värnamo.

Operations manager: “Great activity at the school”

What about Prince’s disappointment that Gröndalsskolan thinks his 14-year-old sister should be a bank neighbor with her tormentor and that you have failed to make her feel safe at school?
– We cannot comment on individual cases, but the school works and plans meetings with this family and other families. There is a lot of activity at the school to put things in order after the event and get this student back to class, says Operations Manager Helene Kristins.

Princess’ 14-year-old sister confirms to Expressen that her brother’s account of how it all went is correct.

Thousands of people gathered for the demo continue to support Black Lives Matter – listen to Ibbi Chune Jogestrand.
