President criticized leaves office

Sports car association president Lars Pettersson resigns with immediate effect after the recent turmoil. The union has been criticized for overspending at the expense of members.

A few weeks ago, SVT revealed that the entire Motor Sports Association meeting went to San Francisco to watch the Indy Finals in 2019. The trip was SEK 300,000 and was funded by members’ money.

Local unions demanded that the board resign, and the union auditor does not want to discharge the board. The reason is the alcohol scores and that the members had to pay for the relatives of the board that accompanied the trip, writes SVT.

Now the union president resigns.

“Swedish motor sports face many important problems in the future that we must focus on throughout Sweden. Recent discussions we have had about Swedish motor sports have focused on major future issues, which in the long run are not good for Swedish motor sports or the union. In that context, my decision has grown to resign as president, ”Lars Pettersson tells the union’s website.
