Violations of the work environment include causing bodily harm or illness and causing danger to others, the prosecution writes in a press release.

Berga housing and care accommodation in the municipality of Solna has received severe criticism in a report to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, something DN told us in late April. In the notification, the regional security representative stated that up to half of the nursing home staff have been or are on sick leave.

Also appeared that 27 of the 96 people at the time of registration had died.

Prosecutor Gunnar Jonasson has launched a preliminary investigation into the case.

– The reason is that we have observed that there have been reports of high mortality rates and that several staff members have been infected with this virus and that there have not been certain regulations for basic care routines, he tells DN.

A press release states that “the preliminary investigation is at an early stage” and that there are currently no suspects in the case.

Inside Gunnar Jonasson formally started a preliminary investigation, a brief investigation was also conducted to find out the conditions to proceed with the case. It was the information about housing deficiencies that led to the prosecutor.

– It has led us to initiate a so-called preliminary investigation and to examine and examine certain material. And what came up there led me to start a preliminary investigation, says Gunnar Jonasson.

Helén Glückman, whose father Jan Glückman is one of the people who have died in the home, has been criticized for the lack of political measures.

– It feels like you have decided beforehand that you are sacrificing people in nursing homes when you send patients who have not had a covid-19 test, he told DN.

Sakarias Mårdh, The CEO of the healthcare company that manages Berga’s nursing and care residences tells DN that he appreciates the prosecutor’s initiation of a preliminary investigation.

“This means that we have an independent investigation of this problem that is good in this situation,” he says.

Sakarias Mårdh also maintains what he had previously stated: that Berga’s nursing and care homes have followed the rules established by the authorities.

“The reason they beat us so much was because they beat us so early in the process,” he says, noting that other houses that were beaten early also had many people infected.

Sakarias Mårdh also claims that Berga’s nursing and care homes are now completely crown-free.
