E-commerce records paved the way for record results for Postnord, both in the fourth quarter and for the entire pandemic year 2020.
Postnord reports a pre-tax profit of SEK 794 million for the fourth quarter of last year. This can be compared to the loss of 34 million during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Net sales increased to almost 11 billion, up from 10.3 billion the previous year.
The result is the best quarterly result since Postnord was formed in 2009, according to CEO Annemarie Gardshol.
It is also the best annual result since its inception.
“The improvement has several causes; Of course, the high demand for packaging contributes, but at the same time we have had very high productivity and good progress on internal improvement programs, ”Gardshol writes in a comment.
“The additional costs that we have had as a result of the pandemic for disease compensation have been offset by compensation provided by the states to mitigate the effects of the pandemic,” he adds.
