Early in her national political career, Kamala Harris was often called “an Obama woman.” The media saw many similarities between the two: black, eloquent, photogenic, and with unusual but powerful names.

Kamala Harris, who certainly supported Obama wholeheartedly in his 2008 presidential campaign, is visibly upset by all of these comparisons. When a reporter asked Harris how she felt about passing on the Barack Obama legacy, she replied:

– I have my own heritage to build on.

Kamala Harris appears So open and friendly during her campaign and in her public political work, but she also has a good dose of integrity and carefully doles out the appropriate parts of her private life. In any case, Harris is very fond of cooking, she revealed in an interview with The Atlantic, preferably dishes from one of the cookbooks of the legend of Californian cuisine Alice Water.

Professionally, Kamala Harris looks like a tough prosecutor. Something he had the opportunity to demonstrate during the hearing of Brett Kavanaugh, the judge accused of sex by Donald Trump nominated for the Supreme Court. When Kavanaugh was heard on the Senate Justice Committee in September 2018, it was Harris’s passion-free but sharp questions that stood out and received attention.

The Justice Committee’s efforts strengthened Kamala Harris nationally. In January last year, Harris announced that she intended to run for nomination to become the Democratic presidential candidate in the 2020 election.

Started well – More than 20,000 people listened to his campaign keynote address at his home in Oakland, outside San Francisco. With the slogans “truth and justice”, Harris tried to present herself as a tough-skinned warrior woman, made of the wood necessary to subdue Donald Trump.

When Kamala Harris was asked in May of last year if she couldn’t imagine pairing up with Joe Biden in the presidential election, as a vice presidential candidate, she replied:

– Biden will be a good partner (as a vice presidential candidate). It has shown that it has done the job.

But in the debates, Harris seemed strangely free of profiles and soon disappeared behind left-wing candidates like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. The campaign slowed down and cash flow slowed. In December last year, he suspended his campaign and withdrew his candidacy.

Still, no one was surprised when Joe Biden announced on August 11 of this year that Kamala Harris would become his vice president if he won the November election. The political debate this summer in the United States clearly focused on race and justice, with riots against racially profiling police violence and intense campaigns for the abolition of symbols reminiscent of slavery and segregation. And that discussion continues.

So it’s not surprising that soon-to-be 78-year-old Biden, white-haired and sometimes a little confused, has chosen to camp with a competent woman with black witnesses who could be his daughter.

In the election campaign, Kamala Harris has done the job without standing out. He participated in an electoral debate against his Republican rival, Trump’s vice president, Mike Pence, a duel in front of almost 60 million viewers who still seemed quite calm and where it can not be said that any of the fighters have won.

But now he has at least Kamala Devi Harris triumphed thoroughly. And as a sponsor of the oldest president in American history, further advancement in your career may come sooner than you think.

The first Kamala Harris list in DN’s file is exactly four years ago, in November 2016, when the last presidential election was summed up. Harris is briefly mentioned as a progressive force that took California’s place in the Senate. One of the new names that has helped the number of ethnic minority women to quadruple in Congress.

Kamala Harris, 56, comes from a home of intellectual immigrants and has a background in India and the Caribbean. The father, Donald Harris, was born in Jamaica and came to the United States as a fellow in the early 1960s. He pursued a distinguished academic career and eventually became an elite professor of economics at Stanford University.

The mother’s name was Shyamala Gopalan and she was the daughter of a diplomat from Chennai, India. She was a leading cancer researcher. As a child, she became “Bused”, had to go to school in a “finer” area according to a then integration program. Eventually, Harris began studying law and, after completing his doctorate at age 25, in 1990 he became an assistant district attorney in the city of Alameda, near San Francisco, eventually specializing in sex crimes.

And so it has continued. His career has been quick, determined and simple. As Kamala Harris herself states in an interview with The New Yorker, she has often been “the first” in the jobs and services she has received: either the first black, or the first woman, or both.

This was the case when in 2011 she was appointed legal director of the state of California, corresponding to the Minister of Justice. And when she was elected to the California Senate in 2016, she was the second black senator in history (the first was Carol Moseley Braun, who represented Illinois in the Senate from 1993-1999).
