The three high-profile shootings took place in late May this year.
On the night of Wednesday 20 May, several shots were fired at Birger Jarlsgatan in the center of Värnamo. No one was injured, as far as is known.
At 03:00 on Saturday 23 May, several shots were fired at an apartment in Rydaholm. Several bullet holes appeared in a box. Nobody was hurt.
On Monday 25 May at 7:00 p.m., the police were alerted to a shooting in the Rörstorp district. A man in his 20s had been shot three times near a preschool in Blåbärsvägen.
No life-threatening injuries
The man who shot was taken by ambulance to hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening. It was described as “not unknown to the police”.
Since then, the three shootings have been investigated for nearly six months, without significant results. So now the investigations are closed.
Rickard Finndahl, chief of the felony police department, refers to the fact that no one in the current cases has wanted to speak to the police.
People know what has happened but choose to remain silent.
“He did not give us information”
– The actors in these cases have not given us the information we need, says Rickard Finndahl to Värnamo Nyheter.
– We have knocked on doors throughout the area and have launched a huge amount of investigative measures in these cases. We have entered with full force, but sometimes you do not reach the end.
Rickard Finndahl notes that investigations can be reopened “at the touch of a button.”
– It may be that a witness or another person who has interesting information reaches us, both anonymously and by name, then we resume the investigation, he tells the newspaper.
