The incident occurred at 10 a.m. Sunday on rural road 565 near Ljungbyholm near Kalmar, according to police.

Police do not want to answer why the man acted as he did or how the arrest went. He will be questioned on Sunday.

The police officer did not have to go to the hospital for his injuries.
