Breanna Taylor, 26, was shot and killed when police raided her home in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 13. Police were looking for drugs linked to her ex-boyfriend.

Brett Hankison fired at least 10 blind shots at various apartments in connection with the raid, and is now accused of endangering the lives of neighbors, US media report. Hankison, who was fired from Louisville police, is not being prosecuted for the fatal shooting.

“Scandalous and offensive”

Taylor family attorney Ben Crump is protesting on Twitter that Hankison has not been charged with murder.

“It is outrageous and offensive! He tweets.

The fatal shooting triggered a violent wave of protests along with backlash after George Floyd was killed by a Minneapolis police officer. The Black Lives Matter movement called for an end to what is called the systematic violence of the American police against blacks.

Curfew at night

Before the jury’s decision, the mayor of Louisville announced a city curfew from 9 pm to 6:30 am in the next few days. This is because the authorities feared the demonstrations.

The other two police officers who participated in the raid are not charged.

The city of Louisville paid $ 12 million in damages to Breanna Taylor’s family last week.
