Polarbröd receives help from Dafgård after the great fire.

It was on 23 August this year that the fire completely destroyed the classic Polarbröd bakery in Älvsbyn.

The company’s investigation shows that the dough likely began to burn in the oven and was then transported to the cooling track, which then caught fire.

After that, 131 people have been notified from the factory, and now Polarbröd receives help from the Dafgård company to bake their bread.

– When we learned of the tragic fire accident, it was natural for us to contact Polarbröd. When we ourselves were affected by a similar fire in 1988, we understood what Polarbröd is going through and how much a helping hand may be needed, says Matilda Ward, press contact in Dagfårds, to Nya Lidköpings-Tidningen.

“Bake while the Polar bread needs help”

Matilda Ward tells NLT that Dafgård contacted Polarbröd for help with baking, and that a dialogue has been going on for some time.

It also says that it has not been decided what bread Dagfård will bake for Polarbröd.

– We will continue baking as long as Polarbröd needs our help, Matilda Ward tells NLT.

The new production has yet to take over Dafgård’s bakery.

First, new staff will be hired and then a new way of working will be sought. It’s unclear how big the production will be, Matilda Ward told NLT.

Dafgård produces, among other things, prepared foods that are sold in portions and bread in the Källby bakery.
