Plane has fallen into Lake Öjen – one person is missing

A smaller plane fell into Lake Öjen south of Sundsvall.

A person has been taken to the hospital while one is still missing.

“We fear that one person is still on the plane,” says Thomas Hansson, internal commander of the rescue service.

The alarm about the incident was received at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

So a smaller sports plane, for unknown reasons, landed and sank in Lake Öjen in Njurunda, south of Sundsvall.

The emergency services, ambulance, police and divers are at this time.

“We know nothing more than that a plane should have landed in the water and then fallen,” says Thomas Hansson, internal commander of the rescue service.

According to him, a person has been pulled out of the water while a person is missing.

– We fear there will be one person left on the plane, says Thomas Hansson.

It is unclear what caused the plane’s landing on the lake and its fall.
