In November last year, Expressen was able to reveal that it will be a fourth season of “Bonusfamiljen” when SVT ordered another eight episodes of the popular series.

Now SVT announces in a press release that Petra Mede, who plays the character Katja, will not participate in the fourth season.
– Covid-19 affected me two weeks ago. It has made me realize the seriousness of this pandemic. Now health is priority one. That is why I have to leave the “Bonus family”, says Petra Mede in the press release.
She continues:
– I want to take this opportunity to thank you for these fantastic years with the “Bonus Family”. It has been one of the most fun things I have ever done and I can only hope to be a part of something just as fun again. I wish the entire production good luck.
Will announce who replaces
Anna Croneman, SVT Drama Program Director, says they are sad that Petra Mede has fallen ill and that the most important thing is that she recovers as soon as possible.
Anna Croneman also says in the press release that they will announce on Friday who will replace Petra Mede in season four.
– Filming continues as planned and tomorrow we will announce who will replace her in the role of Katja in the fourth season.
“Bonusfamiljen” premiered in 2017 and immediately became a home hit on TV sofas. Felix Herngren, Moa Herngren, Clara Herngren and Calle Marthin have created the series. Season four are lead authors Moa Herngren and Ditta Bongenhielm. Clara Herngren will also participate in the script process.
