Wettergren’s message for the future

The league captains had a clear plan for all three games.
It did not include a sanction on Albin Ekdal before the fateful game against France.
– That plan has now been demolished, says Peter Wettergren.
Marcus Danielson was the explosion in the starting eleven against Croatia.
Especially considering that he played 90 minutes against Denmark on Wednesday.
But according to the acting captain of the national team, Peter Wettergren, it has always been part of the plan that the national team leadership put in place before Danielson’s match against the Croats.
After the game, Wettergren explains why Danielson played 90 minutes in both games, which was only in the Swedish national team.
– Above all, we were quite curious about Marcus, we haven’t been able to see him live since he went to China. We had good experiences with Marcus since the last time he was with us. It may not have been his intention to play the 90 minutes against Denmark, but now it happened. We wanted to give him that game and I felt like I let him have 90 minutes and he will come into our game, says Wettergren.
“You can check everything”
Danielson scored and was one of the best players on the field in the 2-1 win over the Croats.
Can you also play on Tuesday against France? It seems to have a plan for everything, doesn’t it?
– Yes, but that plan has already been demolished. We had a clear plan until the Croatia game because it was important to win this one, otherwise we wouldn’t have had much to play against France.
Wettergren chose to make only one change in the match (Dejan Kulusevski out, Viktor Claesson in).
– Now we can see everything. There are many flaws after a match, many of which are tired. The fitness equipment will really have to scrub tomorrow.
“Have a little plan in your back pocket”
Already on Tuesday it is a match again, in Paris against France, when it will be decided whether Sweden remains in the A or descends.
– Now everything is speculation, but it is clear that we have a little plan in our back pocket. If it lasts all the way, we’ll see it tomorrow.
By saying that the field has been demolished, Wettergren refers to the yellow card on Albin Ekdal, which means that the midfielder is suspended against France.
– Yes, he is a key player. When you have plans, you don’t think about suspending someone.
Back to Danielson: does he play three full internationals in seven days?
– The body feels completely fine. If I have the opportunity to play again on Tuesday, I will gladly do so, he replies.
