Peter Madsen is serving a life sentence for the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall.

On Tuesday, Peter Madsen tried to escape, according to Ekstrabladet. Madsen is said to have fled threatening to carry a bomb.

A large operation is underway in Albertslund with several police officers and police dogs, the newspaper writes. There is also a bomb squad on site.

After the escape attempt, Peter Madsen was arrested again and is now protected by snipers.

In the images published by Ekstrabladet, Peter Madsen is seen sitting in front of a bush and to his left are two snipers with drawn weapons pointing at the murderer.

According to information from Ekstrabladet, the killer had been isolated in prison after receiving information that he planned to flee.

Witness: “Suddenly I saw several guards”

A witness Ekstrabladet spoke to says:

“Suddenly I saw several guards running across Roskildevej from the north side of the road,” a witness told Ekstra Bladet.

Danish police write on Twitter that today a man tried to escape.

Peter Madsen’s attorney, Betina Hald Engmark, has not commented on the incident.
