The man had the night shift at the home of a seriously ill patient in need of 24-hour care.
When his relief came in the morning, he was dead.
Now your colleague has been arrested.
– It is obvious that it is murder, says the prosecutor Daniel Edsbagge.
Early on the morning of September 4, a man in his 35s was found murdered with severe stab wounds in an apartment in Trollhättan.
The man turned out to be a personal assistant to the user who lived in the apartment where the alleged murder took place.
Colleague detained
Due to his serious illness, the user is in great need of care and needs assistance 24 hours a day. At the time of the murder, the man is said to have been in the apartment with a colleague, a woman in his 40s.
The colleague has now been arrested on probable cause on suspicion of murder.
– The woman and the victim are partners. Therefore, she is suspected of having murdered her colleague at work, says Daniel Edsbagge, the prosecutor in the case.
According to him, there should be no doubt that this should qualify as murder.
– Obviously this is murder. The man’s injuries are so severe that there is no possibility that he could cause them himself, says Daniel Edsbagge.
Theft suspect
At the arrest hearing, it was learned that the prosecutor had added two criminal classifications. Theft and fraud.
– The woman is suspected of having stolen objects from the apartment where the man was found. The person who lives in the apartment is added as a plaintiff in this case, says Attorney General Daniel Edsbagge.
According to him, the fraud must consist of transactions that must have taken place after the alleged theft.
The user cannot be considered a witness due to his serious illness.
Denies the crime
The women’s advocate, Per-Åke Kvarnström, replies that he has no comment, but announces that the detained woman denies the crime.
– My client denies the crime, he says.
The woman now detained is already on the criminal record. Among other things, she has been sentenced to a shorter prison term for theft and gross negligence in traffic.
The theft for which the woman has been convicted must consist of the theft of money from her previous job.
