According to police information, three younger men have behaved threateningly towards employees of the Brättegården youth home in Vänersborg on Monday evening.

The men, who allegedly declared they had weapons and threatened to shoot staff, arrived at the site of an attempted release by a man in his 18s.

Together they were able to leave on foot, but the police arrested them half an hour later. The released minor was last secured after hiding in the reeds next to a nearby watercourse.

– Now it is about participating in the information of the personnel and questioning the three men against the information, says police spokesman Stefan Gustafsson.

The three men must have arrived at the youth home by taxi from Vänersborg train station. After contacting the taxi, the police have received confirmation of who has paid for the trip.

Despite threats to staff, no firearms have been found.

– We couldn’t find weapons. There have been verbal statements that he should shoot, and they are taken very seriously, says Stefan Gustafsson.

It is not yet clear what crimes the people involved are suspected of.

– We’ll see, now we have to find out the circumstances. But there may be items such as the promotion of the flight.
