Police received an alarm about a riot in the Håsten district in Varberg around 4 pm
According to initial information, several people were involved in the fight in which one person was said to have been hit in the head with a stab wound. It is not clear what kind of shelter it was, but according to police, the victim has been “cut or beaten.”
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, but should not have been seriously injured.
– I have no information on the exact number, but it must have been most of the people. People at the scene alerted about the noise, I don’t know exactly who alerted, says Fredrik Svedemyr.
Man in his 40s arrested
During the night, the police were able to arrest an alleged perpetrator who is now suspected of attempted murder.
Since then, the man has been arrested.
– The man is 40 years old and the arrest went smoothly and there were no strange things, says Fredrik Svedemyr.
Further investigative measures will be taken during the night and the police will carry out several interrogations.
– We will collect the witness information we have and investigate it further. Then we’ll see what it lands on, says Fredrik Svedemyr.
