The 31-year-old Malmö resident was caught on film when he threw stones at police during the violent riot that followed the burning of the Koran on Amiralsgatan. Later, he danced in the street in front of the patrols. Now he is arrested.
The 31-year-old is one of ten people suspected of being involved in the August 28 riots. More than 300 people participated in the riots. Two people have been reported suspects as instigators in setting the masses on fire.
Police also suspect the 31-year-old man of sabotage against blue light activities during the riot, according to film footage of the incident.
The night after the riots, the 31-year-old is suspected of getting on a police bus in Kroksbäck and smashing the windshield.
The 31-year-old is also accused of getting into a police vehicle at the Malmö Law Center on 2 August.
The man must have filmed himself emptying the tires of a police car into the air. He streamed this live via Instagram. But the filming also led him to be identified and suspected of a crime.
– Given that I value that there is a risk that he will continue with his crime and that he will withdraw evidence, his arrest is requested, says the prosecutor Tomas Olvmyr, who leads the preliminary investigation.
The 31-year-old was previously convicted of another case of vandalism against a police vehicle and violence against an officer against security guards.
