This morning, a man was struck at a crosswalk on Finlandsgatan in Stockholm. The force caused him to fly about ten meters in the air and lay down on the street. When he was on the street, he was hit by another vehicle driver.
The man who was injured was taken to hospital with a probable concussion and a suspected back fracture. When the police spoke to him, his memory of the accident was unclear.
The first driver of the vehicle disappeared from the scene of the accident, the second stayed and spoke with the police.
– It was the other driver of the vehicle who reported the accident. It was at the crash site that the first collision was discovered to have taken place, says police spokesman Towe Hägg.
Parts of an exterior mirror and a Toyota emblem were left on the ground.
The driver who remained at the scene was not physically injured, but was also taken to hospital to process what had happened.
The police are investigating the accident as a traffic accident, infection and bodily injury.
– We are very eager to find the first driver of the vehicle, it seems that he is the one that caused the most damage to the road user, says Towe Hägg.
