Patrik Hersley is ready to return to Malmö at SHL.

The spectacular hill of hard shots has signed a contract during the season.

– You have a chance that no one else in the league can measure, says sporting director Patrik Sylvegård.

Patrik Hersley has trained with Malmö during the fall and has now signed the contract.

The 34-year-old tall right-hand hill has played for KHL for the past seven seasons and most recently for Spartak Moscow.

– It will be an offensive force for us, especially in powerplay. He also has a great routine of high-level games and will be able to contribute a lot to us, says Patrik Sylvegård.

“Has emerged”

The last time Skåne de Höllviken was in Sweden, he played three seasons at Leksand, the first two in allsvenskan hockey and the last in SHL.

Malmö is the mother club and has played five seasons in the A team in the elite series and in the Allsvenskan hockey for the club.

– It will be a lot of fun to play here again, it is something that has developed during the time that I have trained with the team and I really want to do it. Leaders and my peers know what they get from me and it feels good that I already know the guys. It will also be perfect to start a derby, says Patrik Hersley.

Has the SHL record

On the list of merits is the 2017 Gagarin Cup champion with St. Petersburg, the Salming Trophy as the best SHL fullback in 2014 and the record for most goals as a fullback with 24 hits during an SHL season the same year.

He has also played for the AHL in North America for two seasons and, among other things, had a short stint in Modo on the elite series.

In Tre Kronor, he has participated, among other things, in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Games in South Korea.

Malmö plays the first Skånederby of the season at home against Rögle on Tuesday night, Patrik Hersley then plays in the number 6 jersey.

It will be a match in the match between Patrik Hersley in Malmö and Eric Gelinas in Rögle.
