“He just can’t work as governor anymore,” Bill de Blasio said of his Democratic Party comrade – and political rival – after a sixth woman accused Cuomo of behaving inappropriately toward her.

Cuomo is accused of fondling the employee under her blouse, according to The Albany Times Union, which cites a “straightforward” source. The leg is said to have taken place at the governor’s residence after Cuomo called the woman on a work case.

“Disgusting accusations”

The information has not been confirmed and the employee has not made any formal report, but claims according to local media that Cuomo has made several other inappropriate approaches.

The governor denies the woman’s accusations.

“I’ve never done anything like this,” he told the Times Union, calling the details of the indictment “disgusting.”

Cuomo’s previous allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate gestures against female employees have also been denied.

But he also apologized at a high-profile press conference last week for how his behavior may have been perceived and said he would await the results of an independent investigation that has been launched.

Mayor de Blasio does not believe it is necessary to wait for an investigation. He thinks Cuomo should resign immediately.

– This disgusts me, de Blasio told reporters on Thursday.

“I had to get tough”

During the day, at least 55 local Democratic politicians in the New York area also wrote a letter demanding the governor’s resignation.

“As legislators and New Yorkers, it is our duty to decide what is best for New York State.

Governor Andrew Cuomo is one of America’s best-known Democratic politicians. Its popularity skyrocketed during the start of the corona pandemic. But lately, it has been increasingly challenged, for example, by high death rates in state nursing homes.
