Paris Saint Germain led by Thomas Tuchel reached the club’s first Champions League final and managed to save a national triple during the 2019/2020 season. Despite a 4-0 win against Strasbourg last time, the German is forced to leave the club after a weaker start to the season.

After three seasons at Borussia Dortmund, Tuchel took over the French club in May 2018 and has led PSG to two league titles. After last year’s successful season, the club has lost four games in seventeen rounds this season. Tuchel has previously expressed frustration over the assignment to the capital club.

“Feel like a politician”

“I feel more like a politician than a coach,” Tuchel told German Sport 1 shortly before his dismissal.

PSG has yet to announce a replacement.

“I would like to thank Thomas Tuchel and his staff for all they have done for this club. Thomas has brought a lot of energy and passion and of course we will remember all the good memories together. I wish him all the best in the future,” he said the club’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, in a statement.
