Successful Swedish Games Paradox has signed an agreement with Japanese gaming giant Sega to launch the company’s games in Japan and other Asian countries.
This is stated in a press release that the company sent last Saturday.
“We have wanted to share more of our games with players in Japan and Asia for quite some time and we cannot think of a better partner than Sega to help us,” said Charlotta Nilsson, Chief Operating Officer at Paradox.
The first game to be released under the new deal with Sega is Empire of Sin, which is expected to launch on Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch in spring 2021.
Paradox has a really strong quarter behind it, where they made a profit of 199 million SEK and sales increased by 20 percent to 464 million SEK.
Several gaming companies are charging for acquisitions
At the same time, several of the company’s Swedish competitors have recharged and acquired several competitors. Stillfront received more than a billion last spring and as recently as a week ago it bought an American mobile game developer in a billion-dollar deal.
Värmland’s Embracer also had a good quarter, buying up to 8 game studios for more than 500 million in early September. Last week, gaming company Enad Global 7 also received $ 430 million from, among others, Sven Hagströmers Creades to collect for acquisitions.
