Police have been alerted to a shooting in the Brynäs district in Gävle. At least one shot was fired on Saturday night and the incident occurred outdoors.

Police write on their website that “no person should have been seriously injured in connection with the incident.” What this means more precisely, for example if someone has received minor injuries, is unclear because the police are scarce with further comment.

TT: But does someone take you to the hospital?

– Not that I know of, replies press spokesman Magnus Jansson Klarin.

TT: Is anyone detained or identified as a suspect?

– I can’t go into that because of the secrecy prior to the investigation, he replies.

It was people in the public who alerted the police, says Jansson Klarin, but adds that he can’t say much more.

– It is a delicate stage of the preliminary investigation.
