Leif Widegren, a member of the Östersunds FK board of directors, has finished with bad weather.
It was after the away game against Elfsborg on 23 August that Östersunds FK briefed their own board member.
The record applies that Widegren played in the match, which may be contrary to the rules that apply to games in their own matches.
“No matches are added for 50 SEK”
Leif Widegren claims that he acted out of the belief that it was okay for him to play. It refers to the fact that the rules of the game include players and leaders, but that the members of the board of directors are not mentioned.
– I have not sat on a table before and I like to play and watch football. I have interpreted it as being allowed to play. It is not about fixing matches for 50 crowns, we should be clear about it, he tells Swedish radio Jämtland.
Johan Claesson, Integrity Officer for the Swedish Football Association, tells this to Swedish Radio Jämtland:
– We will investigate this and see if there are reasons to report. It’s unclear whether a board member can comply with the regulations. It’s about whether you should have a role in which you can influence the outcome of the match.
Tar waiting time
Leif Widegren has now taken a break from his assignments at Östersunds FK.
– I take time out. Now I am waiting for the union to get in touch so that we can solve this in peace and quiet, he tells Swedish Radio Jämtland.
