The congestion of Stockholm’s pubs and cafes continues. During Friday, May 1, environmental management inspectors took a closer look at 16 sites, this time in Bromma and Östermalm districts.

Five restaurants received comments, but none were reported to Smittskydd Stockholm, which is the authority that can decide on the closure.

“More than a month ago the new Public Health Authority guidelines were introduced, and about a quarter of the taverns inspected have received comments that they have corrected since then,” said Katarina Luhr (MP), Environment Council. and Climate Citizens, in a press release from the Environment Party in Stockholm City.

In total, the city’s environmental management has carried out 338 inspections since March 25. A total of 80 deviations have been observed and nine cases have been reported to Smittskydd Stockholm, according to the press release.

Last Sunday, five restaurants closed, as the infectious surgeon felt the deficiencies were so severe that they posed a risk of contagion. They have been reopened since the deficiencies were corrected. On Friday, two more taverns were forced to close.
