The Sats gym chain reports a very low profit for the first quarter due to the crown pandemic, which forced them to close their facilities. Adjusted operating profit for the period fell 67 percent to NOK 40 million, while turnover in turn decreased two percent to SEK 990 million.

“Unfortunately, the first quarter of 2020 was marked by the fact that for the first time in the company’s history we had to close our facilities. The coronavirus outbreak has been challenging for society as a whole, as well as for Sats.” CEO Sondre Gravir writes in the report.

As a countermeasure, during the period, online training was invested in the form of various training programs, which has contributed to 1.2 million digital training sessions being conducted during the period, an increase of 485 percent compared to the same period in 2019.

“Our online training sessions have had around 1,000 participants per training and more than 100,000 of our members have been digitally trained during the shutdown,” writes the CEO.
