One person was shot and killed in the middle of the day in a garage at Birger Jarlsgatan in Stockholm on March 27.
The murder is suspected of revenge after a cafe bomb attack earlier this year.
– The murder is the result of a conflict in a criminal environment, says Marina Chirakova, who is the prosecutor in the case in a press release.
On the morning of March 27 this year, several shots were heard in a garage on Birger Jarlsgatan in central Stockholm.
A young man was hit by gunfire and later died of his injuries. Another person escaped the gunfire without injury.
The incident was listed as murder and a 36-year-old man could be arrested later. Today the man was charged.
The murder is said to be the result of a violent gang conflict that has devastated Stockholm during the year. The prosecutor points out, among other things, the explosion of a café in Vasastan earlier this year as one of the facts of the conflict.
– The murder is the result of a conflict in a criminal environment. The Café Sirap explosion a couple of weeks before the murder and various other events are the motive for the murder, chamber prosecutor Marina Chirakova says in a press release.
The prosecutor has been helped by data from the encrypted mobile service Encrochat, which the French police in collaboration with Europol managed to decrypt earlier this year, which should have clarified the motive for the murder.
– There is ample evidence about the reason for the investigation, says Marina Chirakova.
