The man who was trapped in a hole in the forest was able to tell on his mobile how he heard the sirens of the police car. Stock Photography.
A man in his 80s who had disappeared near Smålandsstenar was found early in the morning in a forest area, thanks to his mobile phone and police sirens.
– He claims that he fell in the forest and then got stuck in some kind of hole, says Torbjörn Lindqvist, police duty officer, to Värnamo Nyheter
The man was reported missing on Thursday night when his relatives did not contact him. Police found out which telephone antenna the man’s cell phone was connected to and began searching.
They also tried to call the mobile phone. Shortly after four in the evening, the man replied. Police set sirens so the man could tell how he heard the sound.
At half past four the man they were carrying was found. They helped him out of the forest and took him to a hospital for control in the Eastern States Police Region.
