Police received multiple alarms about heavy beatings at Nyfors in Eskilstuna at 7:50 pm on Thursday night. Several patrols were called to the scene, where a wounded man was found.
The man was taken to hospital by ambulance and his injuries were described as serious. Later, the police announce that the man has died. His family members have been notified.
Shoot the squares
The crime scene, a small center in Nyfors, has been cordoned off. According to the police, the blockade is expected to continue for some time into the night.
– Our technicians have had a long way to go, so their work will take a while, says Åsa Willsund.
Police are looking for an alleged perpetrator. At the same time, interrogations are being carried out with people who have witnessed the incident.
– There were many witnesses who were outdoors in this place when it happened. We have interviewed several of them and urge others who have been there to get in touch, says Åsa Willsund.
Rumors of a car
Aftonbladet has spoken to a witness who claims he must have been shot from a car. These are not tasks that the police work on.
– I’ve seen those rumors. But there is no information that I have and it is not something we start from. A car is not a main trail in the police investigation, says Åsa Willsund.
The police have launched a preliminary investigation into the murder. The case will now go to the felony unit.
