Now it takes a boat to complain about Gothenburg

It is the non-profit organization Funktionsrätt Göteborg that has placed the mailbox on the canal near the town hall and Brunnsparken in Gothenburg.

There is a blue mailbox with the city crest and the text: “Do you have a complaint about the city of Gothenburg?”

The purpose behind the mailbox and its inaccessibility is part of a campaign aimed at making it easier for Gothenburgers to submit comments about the municipality.

My Falk, who is a project manager at Funktionsrätt Göteborg, says that many people feel like they don’t know where to turn or don’t listen to them. Similar mailboxes can be found in various locations in Gothenburg.

The new website should make it easier

The organization’s new website “Klaga på stan” will make it easier for Gothenburg residents to express their views. The complaint is then sent to the city’s contact center and becomes part of the official statistics.

Functional Law Gothenburg also emphasizes the importance of keeping complaints on file. According to a review they did themselves in 2018-2019, there are many employees in the city who do not have time to register complaints, writes GP.

– We heard, for example, about a unit manager in an LSS home who said, “I have my little black book in which I make complaints, I haven’t sent anything to the registrar in four years,” My Falk tells the newspaper.

The organization has received approval from the city to install the mailboxes in Gothenburg and they will remain until the end of next week.
