The fall months this year have been unusually warm with pleasant late summer temperatures of around 20 degrees on some days. But now it looks like it’s over and Gothenburg is entering more normal autumn weather. The temperature will drop significantly now, especially at night.
The colder air has descended over Gothenburg, but it is not autumn yet, at least not merely meteorologically. The average daily temperature should be below ten degrees, five days in a row. It’s still so cold for three days, so it takes two more days.
According to Moa Hallberg, a meteorologist at SMHI, autumn will probably come to Gothenburg now, probably already this week. Which gives more normal temperatures for the season.
– The next few days will be pleasant, with temperatures around ten degrees, he says.
Cold nights
The nights, on the other hand, are much cooler compared to what it has been lately. The temperature will end in a few degrees more. Locally in western Sweden, it may end in zero.
But the negative degrees are not far off, Dalsland will have temperatures on the negative side.
The next few days will not offer rain but more sun and light winds. Except on Wednesday when there can be strong gusts of wind of 14 to 15 meters per second in the villages.
If it rains this week, it looks like it will come this weekend.
– Some rains can happen this weekend, says Moa Hallberg.
According to Moa Hallberg, the high pressure seems to hold up through the weekend anyway.
