A different Christmas awaits many.
When 17-year-old Nova Löfberg thought about what she could do for her own school together with the student union, the idea was born to have a great Zoom conversation with the Swedish student unions.
– Many may feel lonely during the holidays and perhaps much more this year. We want young people who celebrate and those who don’t celebrate to be able to be with each other if you feel you want to. We want to provide an opportunity for fellowship this special Christmas, he says.
At 10:00 a.m. on Christmas Eve, the conversation began with a Christmas breakfast and then various activities were expected throughout the day. The last activity takes place at 8 pm, then there is a movie projection.
– You are free to join. It is aimed mainly at high school students, but if there are some younger ones, they are also welcome, says Nova Löfberg and continues:
– You do not need to be part of a student union to participate. Everyone is welcome.
Swedish student unions are helped
23 different student unions are involved in the project and Nova Löfberg says there will always be a representative from one of the unions on site.
Nova Löfberg, who is the initiator of the project, says she didn’t think it would be that big when she started thinking about the idea.
– I got in touch with the presidents of other Swedish student unions and then more and more people started to join. It got bigger than I could have ever imagined.
On Facebook and Instagram you can read more about the project.
