Lars Lagerbäck can lead the team to Austria.

The match against Romania was canceled.

The Norwegian national team was never allowed to go.

Norway can now send team b to the game against Austria on Wednesday, with, among others, Fredrik Ulvestad of Djurgården in the team.

The flight to Romania was only an hour away when the final message came: the Norwegian national team couldn’t go.

The Nations League match, which was supposed to be played on Sunday, was canceled due to a crown infection in the Norwegian team.

– We are very disappointed that the authorities force us to stay at home. The other 54 UEFA nations are playing international matches this week, except Norway, Stefan Johansen, Martin Ödegaard and Joshua King say in a press release.

Can play b national team

The travel ban now also threatens Norway’s match against Austria on Wednesday, a match that could secure a Norwegian group win in the event of a win.

But Norway has a plan to play the game.

Lars Lagerbäck can go to Vienna with a national team, writes VG.

– Yes, it is relevant and something we are discussing. We have gone further with the details, but having a team for that match is relevant, says Lisa Klaveness from the Norwegian Football Association to VG.

Fixed in quarantine

All players in Romania’s imaginary squad are trapped in quarantine and therefore completely excluded from games.

The planned B-team will include players like those from Europe who don’t normally place and players who have already had covid-19 and then bypass quarantine rules, including, for example, Djurgården’s Per Kristian Bråtveit.

For VG, multiple players confirm that they have received calls to line up.

– I will definitely appear if necessary, but we will see how it turns out because it will probably also be the World Cup in logistics, says MFF defender Andreas Vindheim earlier, now in Sparta Prague.

According to the newspaper, Fredrik Ulvestad from Djurgården is also one of the players contacted, as is Mattias Dyngeland from Elfsborg. Dif goalkeeper PK Bråtveit is also relevant. To a certain extent because he recently had the disease and thus escapes the quarantine rules that may arise.
