Anna Nordqvist chased after a long-awaited victory in Arkansas. But with only a few holes remaining, the trophy of victory slipped from the Swede’s grasp.

Two ghosts ruined the weekend for Anna Nordqvist.
The Swede had a split advantage after the first round of LPGA competition in Rogers, Arkansas. He held the top spot during the second round and came out on Sunday with three kinds of lead.
The lead had eleven holes.
But when he was chasing Austin Ernst on the 12th and got his eighth birdie of the day and Nordqvist on the ball had to settle for a bogey, a sort of lead morphed into a shot to first place.
When Nordqvist made a new bogey on the 14th, the gap with American Ernst widened even further, and when she came out on the 18th hole, the Swede needed an eagle to take the competition to special games. There were a couple, and Ernst could rejoice in her second win on the American pro tour.
Anna Nordqvist, on the other hand, will continue to pursue her first LPGA win since 2017.
Just behind the leading battle, Linnea Ström finished ninth and Pernilla Lindberg eleventh. Caroline Hedwall, who was seventh before Sunday, slipped to fifteenth place split.
Next weekend, it’s time for this year’s second big competition, ANA Inspiration in Palm Springs, California.
