The incident occurred two and a half years ago, but the trial against the men only began this week.
It was during a house party that the deceased, a man in his 30s, is said to have behaved in a wild and threatening manner. The four men then held him down, among other things, sitting on him, waiting for the police to arrive. Only when the police arrived at the home was it discovered that the detainee was unconscious and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was started, and he was later pronounced dead.
The defendants say they acted in self-defense. They also say that they verified that the man was breathing. The test will end next week
