Being able to still be on the ice in JVM and also accomplish goals makes the pain a bit easier to handle:
– It means a lot. She is with me here and I do the best I can on the ice, she says.
Gunler also had several opportunities to complete his hat trick.
– Of course, I would have liked very much to have scored a third goal. Do we think we make a pretty solid couple? It’s hard for a team like Austria to run for three periods no matter what I say, he tells Viasat.
Federation captain Joel Rönnmark says that the team management no longer supported Noel Gunler in this situation:
– We have not specifically spoken with Noel about what happened. But we have a daily dialogue with the guys about hockey and most things. It’s great that he manages to score these good goals and great that he dedicates them to his grandmother, says Rönnmark at the press conference.
Noel Gunler did not attend the press conference as agreed when he had to undergo a doping control.
