Thousands upon thousands of North Koreans gathered to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Labor Party, North Korea’s ruling party.

The army’s new ballistic missiles were unveiled and leader Kim Jong-Un made a speech.

– Not a single person in the country has been infected by covid-19! he said.

Fireworks, beautiful singing, and a massive military parade were shown to the North Korean people as the ruling party celebrated 75 years.

Many soldiers were seen here, equipped with new helmets and protective gear, in honor of the day. A new submarine and intercontinental ballistic missile also slipped into the parade

Leader Kim Jong-Un was present on a balcony overlooking King Il-Sung Square. He greeted and congratulated the people.

“Not a single person in the country has been infected with covid-19,” he told South Korea’s Yonhap news agency.

In late July, a North Korean exile was reported to have brought the virus into the country when he illegally returned from South Korea. The entire border city was then quarantined and the man carefully tracked down. The man was to be tested, but the result has not yet reached the outside world.

He wants to keep up with South Korea

Since last spring, the already closed country has also had its borders closed with China. According to TT, North Korean soldiers shot dead a South Korean who had entered North Korean waters last September in what are believed to be precautionary measures against the coronavirus. South Korea, angered by the incident, unusually received an apology from North Korea.

And the friendly rhetoric against the neighboring country persists. Speaking to people, Kim Jong-Un said he hoped that people infected with the South Korean virus would recover quickly.

– I pray that soon we can hold hands again, he said according to Yonhap.

However, it is unclear when the parade should have taken place. International media was not allowed and photos of the event give the impression that it took place at night.

South Korean media reported as early as Saturday morning that there were signs that a parade with many participants had taken place in Kim Il-Sung Square. But the photos weren’t sent out until later in the afternoon.
