Late on Saturday night, Sportbladet revealed that Brynäs coach Peter Andersson had been fired.

According to information from Sportbladet, the main candidate to replace Andersson is Nils Ekman. He was on SVT’s NHL broadcast when the news came out.

– Eeeh… Yes… Eeh… I really don’t have much to say about the situation, Ekman responds live to Marie Lehmann’s direct question.

The SHL basic series has been played, and it is now clear that the big clubs Brynäs and HV71 will meet in a very eager qualifying series.

After the last away game against Oskarshamn, in which Brynäs lost 4-3, Sportbladet was able to reveal that Peter Andersson would be fired from the head coach position for the next series of matches. Late Saturday night, Andersson himself confirmed this to Expressen.

– Yes it’s correct. He has delivered the message now. He (President Jürgen Lorentz) called a couple of minutes ago, Andersson said at the time.

The main candidates to succeed Andersson and assistant coach Viktor Stråhle are Nils Ekman and Josef Boumedienne, according to information from Sportbladet. When the news broke, Ekman went live with SVT’s NHL broadcast. Apparently surprised, his colleagues Marie Lehmann and Chris Härenstam asked him about the information.

“Now we watch the NHL game”

Lehmann: What’s up with that thing, Santa?

It was a long answer. And no answer.

– Eeeh… Yes… Eeeh… I really have nothing to say about the situation. I find it strange and almost uncomfortable sitting here and watching TV and talking about it. What I can say is that I love hockey, that I breathe hockey and that it is the best and most fun there is. In addition to my children, hockey is my life. But I’m not that willing to sit down and comment on that.

Chris Härenstam: Can you confirm whether you received the question together with Josef Boumedienne de Brynäs?

– Njaaae, I can’t confirm or comment on it in any way actually, I don’t want to. I … I don’t … say ‘no comments’ at all more than that, of course I follow SHL and ice hockey in general … I love coaching teams and that’s what I want to do. So … Now I’m talking about much more than the question I feel, but then I procrastinate. I will not comment on anything and I will not comment if I have received any questions and yes… I say ‘no comments’ and then we will watch the NHL game, replied a very uncomfortable Nils Ekman.

Probably soon coach in Brynäs.
