Susanne Bier was one of several reasons Nicole Kidman accepted the role of the successful psychologist Grace.
– I really wanted to work with her. She is a true filmmaker, the actress told TT on a Zoom call from Sydney.

Nicole Kidman will soon appear in the miniseries “The undoing” on HBO Nordic. She plays Grace, who is married to Jonathan (Hugh Grant). Together, the couple also have a teenage son. The family lives a seemingly cozy life in luxury, but it all comes to an end when a person from the circle of acquaintances is found brutally murdered.

– I see this as a timeless story, a description of how a marriage is ruined. Telling how we could not know the person we live with and then putting this on a suspenseful stage, that was important to me. Hope it works, says Nicole Kidman.

– I loved working with Susanne. She is an author and knows exactly what she wants. He turned the series into a feature film. There are cliffhangers at the end of some episodes, but it is a single cohesive story. It’s a cinematic experience, she says.
Many scenes take place on the streets of Manhattan, and Nicole Kidman can be seen in the distance in her green or red coats.
– It was Susanne’s clothing designer from Denmark who made them. They would be visible, so that one could immediately distinguish Grace from the crowd. For Grace, these clothes become a kind of protective blanket. He uses them to protect himself from his environment. I felt naked when I wasn’t wearing any of the coats. That was one of the benefits of being a director. She understood Grace.
Nicole Kidman was executive producer of “Little Lies” and also of “The Ruin” and the upcoming series “Nine Perfect Strangers.” She is very excited to get involved in more projects as a producer.
– It’s really new ground for me, but I hope I can help with what I’ve learned over the years. I am very happy to have had that opportunity. I want to create projects for women, it is something that I am very passionate about. I want to create as many as I can, because who knows how long it will last.
