He’s always had the “look”.

Now 35-year-old NHL star Brent Burns appears on the hit television series “Vikings.”

– It was one of the coolest things I did, he says.

For more than ten years, Brent Burns has charmed hockey fans with his lighthearted play and funky appearance. Backbjässen has the most talked about and acclaimed beard in the entire league. And now it can also be seen on the “white canvas”.

Or yes, at least in a very popular television series.

Burns appears in two episodes (13 and 14) of the new season of the HBO hit “Vikings.” The hockey star, who plays the character “Skane,” also has lines in section 14 and then speaks an Old Norse dialect.

Praise Franzén

In the historical drama series, Swede Gustaf Skarsgård has a leading role as the character “Floki,” but Burns says it was the Finn Peter Franzén, who plays “King Harland,” who made the biggest impression on him.

– It was absolutely amazing. In the first scene we shot together, he (Franzén) ripped it all off at once, after which everyone, including the entire film crew, started clapping. Still, we ended up doing around 70 new takes. It really was something completely new to me, and it was amazing, Burns says according to NHL.com.

Took two years

In fact, the recording took place two years ago, in Ireland. But it happened until now before the episodes saw the light of day.

– I’ve always thought that people lie when they say they don’t watch their own movies or TV series. But I haven’t realized that it takes that long to complete everything, Burns says according to Mercury News.

Before I was a big fan of “Vikings”.

– So it was incredibly cool to see where everything is filmed, how it goes and to meet all the actors. It was one of the best things I did, he says.

Now, however, there is again a complete focus on hockey.

The NHL season begins in less than two weeks.
