A five-day New Years Eve party with 500 guests, a dance floor and a live band.

An unimaginable fantasy phenomenon can be believed with the corona pandemic in mind.

For soccer star Neymar, it’s called New Year’s plans instead, which has drawn strong criticism.

Several Brazilian media, including O Globo, have reported on the plans of Neymar, star of Paris Saint-Germain, for the New Year’s celebration.

Quiet celebration with immediate family topped off with a quiet toast at twelve o’clock? No.

Homemade three-course dinner with a good friend? No.

A five-day party with 500 VIP guests and live bands in a basement ballroom? Apparently.

While the corona pandemic continues to bear fruit, Neymar began his controversial welcome to the new year on Friday.

Soundproof basement

A celebration that, as expected, provoked strong reactions and criticism on social networks and in Brazil, where recently the death toll from the pandemic exceeded 190,000 people.

“Today’s idiot trophy is for Neymar and his five-day party” writes human rights lawyer Augusto de Arruda Botelho on Twitter.

According to Brazilian media reports, the only rule for the 500 or so guests at the party should be a mobile phone ban, probably because Neymar didn’t want the party to go public (like now).

Festprisse

At least, the PSG star seems to be thinking about the tranquility of his neighbors, as it is said that he prepared a dance room in the basement with sound insulation for the party, which according to various media is adjacent to his helicopter mansion in Mangaratiba , on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro.

It is not the first time that Neymar ends up with the wind to organize parties, something that he has previously done on clearly more suitable occasions. After all, annual football players’ birthday parties have a reputation for being lavish and extravagant.
